RETROSPECTIVE // Celebrating 25 years of 2Faced Dance in photography and film

As part of our 25th Birthday we wish to celebrate all those who have influenced the company’s origins and played an impactful part in its 25 years as the only permanent dance company in Herefordshire.

A commission - 25 newly commissioned photographic portraits will tell the human story of 2Faced Dance and its tangible heritage through 25 personal connections.

A competition - Hereford school children will be invited to submit photographs responding to the theme of ‘State of Motion’, to be judged by a professional panel.

An exhibition - the portraits and winning entries from the competition will be exhibited alongside archive photography and film of the Company’s work and impact over the last 25 years.

CHARITY AUCTION

Thank you to all our wonderful supporters who have donated auction lots to raise money for Men in Motion, a brand new weekly movement project for men living with a mental health condition, in partnership with Herefordshire MIND.

The auction will be held at the Private View of Retrospective on Thursday 20 March, but so that everyone can take part and contribute to this brilliant cause, we’re taking online bids from Tuesday 18 March.

COMPETITION FOR SCHOOLS

The winners of our School’s Competition are:

Lewis Short, Whitecross High School
Nelle Jeffreys, Lottie Collyer and Molly Deer, Bosbury Primary School

The runners-up are:

Harriet Gilmore, Hereford College of Arts
Leigh-Edith Brain, Whitecross High School

"I was really very impressed with the quality of all the photographs entered. Many use complex photography skills and talents such as slow or fast shutter, long exposures, flash and light blurring, over and under exposures and light trails, as well as capturing fast events held in a single capture of frozen movement. All winning images in their own right, so well done to everyone. You all have the skills to be great photographers, so keep on shooting the magic movement!
